On October 16th, the Steamplant Event Center hosted an important discussion on Chaffee County’s housing crisis as part of the EDC Insights Series. Local leaders and business owners gathered to explore solutions to the growing shortfall of workforce housing, with expert panelists Reed McCullogh (Chaffee Housing Trust), Marjo Curgis (Chaffee Housing Authority), Rob Gartzman (affordable housing developer), Paul Andrews (affordable housing developer), and Amy Eckstein (Deerhammer Distilling).
This video captures key moments from the discussion, including the panelists’ thoughts on Ballot Measures 6A and 6B, which are critical to addressing the estimated 1,100-unit housing deficit. These measures, if passed, could provide much-needed funding and support to help tackle the housing crisis head-on.
